Terminology from “The Philosophy of Time Travel”

Here is a link to a site that has all the terms and explanations

http://www.donniedarko.org.uk/explanation/

Inception

Here is an article that refers to what I was mentioning about Inception where the spinning top may not have been Cobb’s real totem. It may actually have been something else, much less obvious, or even a person…

Star Trek Voyager – Relativity

The Voyager episode I was referring to is from season 5, episode 24, “Relativity” it is a pretty good one with all kind of paradoxes all over the place. But there are a lot of time travel episodes in this series in general.

Southland Tales

No idea how to describe this movie it has to be seen to be experienced. I am not saying it is going to be a good experience though…

The Other Aliens Sean Mentioned

The one that plays the games – Sirna Kolrami – He was a male Zakdorn that was introduced on the Star Trek: The Next Generation season 2 episode “Peak Performance”. He looks more like his face is melting than in the wind

Ages of the actors in Grease

Grease was release in 1978. Here are the main cast ages at that time

John Travolta – 24

Olivia Newton-John – 30

Stockard Channing – 34

Didi Conn – 27

Jeff Conaway – 28

Alliteration in comic books

I figured out why I made that note. It is because of this exchange between Gretchen and Donnie.

Gretchen: “Donnie Darko.” What the hell kind of name is that? It’s like some sort of superhero or something.

Donnie: What makes you think I’m not?

It really is like some kind of superhero name and a lot of superheroes have alliterative names. Here is just a few examples

Peter Parker
J Jonah Jameson
Bruce Banner
Suzy Storm
Octo Octavious
Clark Kent
Lois Lane
Teen Titans

Sheep go to Heaven and goats go to hell

This saying is derived from Matthew 25:31-46 where it talks about man being separated like a shepherd separating his flock where the sheep are on the right and the goats are on the left. Where those on the right will be accepted and those on the left will be cast out.

It is also a great song by Cake

Septic Tank

That is the term I couldn’t think of. The tank that just holds sewage so it can break down.

Doom Game Plot

The game was first released in 1993 and after checking the wiki, it kind of half matches the movie.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_(1993_video_game)#Plot

Robert Pattinson

Here is the article I was referring to about him not working out during quarantine. I mean it makes sense.

Robert Pattinson Refuses to work out

Blade Runner Quote

Here is the quote said by Batty that Sean was trying to remember

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time… like tears in rain… Time to die.”

Budget for Doom

According to IMDB the budget for this movie was $60mil. That isn’t what I would call low budget.

Karl Urban moved Leonard Nimoy to tears

Here is an article that talks about the incident
