Dazed and confused music budget
It is estimated that the budget for the film was $6.9 million and 1/6 of that was spent on music rights. That means they spent about $1.15 million on music alone.
Music References
Sarah and I made a few music references to songs that are in film. Below are the movie names, songs, and reference songs
Godzilla (1998) Puff Daddy sampled a Led Zeppelin song
Original – Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
Cover – Come With Me by Puff Daddy feat. Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin)
Wild Wild WestÂ
So I realized something when looking up these 2 songs, there are additional songs that are sampled in each song.
In Kool Moe Dee’s song he samples the opening title music from “The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly”
In Will Smith’s version he samples 2 songs for his beat, of course Kool Moe Dee’s version of the song but also “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder
Original – The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (Main Title) by Ennio Morricone
Original – Wild Wild West by Kool Mo Dee
Original – I Wish by Stevie Wonder
Cover – Wild Wild West by Will Smith
The film that came out in 2007 took inspiration from and utilized the songs of the Beetles. I have never gotten around to seeing it, no reason in particular, but now that it has been brought up, I will have to find it and have a look.
Forbidden Planet
The 1956 film is on any Sci-Fi lover’s must see film list. It is definitely the type of film that captures the imagination and makes you think. Also the poster art is AMAZING!
it’s a random thing to obsess over but Is the song mentioned by Tracey (50:10) that is a remake “Just us” by DJ Khaled & SZA? It
takes the beat of Mrs. Jackson by Outkast.
OMG!!!! Yes it is!!
